The Glassblowing House – Restaurant and Bar in Plymouth
In January 2009, we were asked to create an ocean inspired floating glass sculpture to grace the vaulted ceiling of this amazing listed building right on the harbour front in Plymouth. We combined alabaster, opalblue, aqua and turquoise glass with a hint of charcoal and designed the piece on a scale model in the studio. The circular frame was nearly 2 metres in diameter and this was installed first on a pulley system to enable easier access. The drop of glass 3 metres long and we installed this on site in one very long but very enjoyable day in March 2009.
